Elisa Torrini (Rome, 10/04/1989) is an Italian model. She was crowned Miss Universe Italy 2011 on June 30, 2011 at the Piazzale del Soccorso in Forio d'Ischia. She is 1.80 m tall (5'11"), one of tallest Italian delegates ever in the history of the pageant. Other prizes for the winner include beauty kits, jewelry and and a three-day stay at a luxurious hotel in Sardinia.

What would be your “dream job” in life?
My dream job would be working in the corporate world as a leading representative for a public relations firm. As a current public relations representative, I am diligently working to attain this dream and am well on my way to achieving my career goals.
List any interesting or unusual jobs you may have had.
My most interesting job I have had has been working as a women’s fitness instructor and beauty consultant. Improving the self esteem and body image of women from all walks of life has been a fulfilling and rewarding occupation.
Where is the most interesting place you have been?
The most interesting place I have ever visited is Tokyo Japan. It was an amazing and unforgettable experience. I was given the opportunity to visit a traditional Zen garden, learn a Japanese fan dance and spend a day meditating in an ancient temple with the monks who resided there. I also traveled to Beijing China where I was able to walk along the Great Wall of China. Nothing can compare to the breathtaking experience of standing on one of the great wonders of the world.
What is your philosophy of/in life?
It is important for one to strive to remain open minded, empathetic and kind because if you are good to others, good will come to you.

Jessie May was in a traumatic car accident 04/04/02. She awoke from a coma with a broken body and severe temporal brain injury. Through persistence of a supportive team this Aries regained her health.
Her travels have taken her throughout the globe exploring with different workshops, seminars and groups. Jessie May continues to speak. Powered by the passion for sharing, Jessie May is now writing her first book.

Languages spoken Fluently (please include your native language if English is not your native language)
I speak English fluently, although I am attempting to learn French and Spanish as well as sign language. Through my travels and cultural exchanges I do try to the best of my ability to communicate with all who travel my path. It is amazing what barriers can be overcome when there is a will of the mind and spirit.
What would be your “dream job” in life?
I dream of speaking about the things that matter, by being a motivational life speaker.  There are many grey areas and hardships in life and we as people need to be better equipped to deal with failures and disappointments, injury and losses or whatever may come your way. There are so many wonderful things that life has to offer but many hold themselves back from their true ability because they do not know how to make the necessary changes. I want to help share reassurance that anything can be achieved with the right mind set, determination with effort.
List any interesting or unusual jobs you may have had.
The most interesting and unusual job is becoming the writer to my very own book. I feel that by being open and direct about the circumstances I have lived through this is the most genuine and honest service I could ever provide the world. Even through discouraging times there is always the ability to step forward and take a new direction.
By not fearing judgment or ridicule, I am opening up my struggles to show progress and the ability to make change and regain the growth in life. I think anyone has a hard time finding what they are looking for, if they are looking in the dark. Awareness is our flame.
Where is the most interesting place you have been?
This truly is a difficult one to choose. One wonder to my own eyes was the lushness of a real rainforest, which did not do my childhood memories justice. St. Lucia is a hidden heaven without a doubt. To soak in the ‘Fountain of Youth’ and create a mud face, as a lady in her twenties, was a bit surreal! Being the worlds’ only drive in volcano, I must say was the icing on the cake!
When I emerged from the warm pool with my cracked heels, but no pain! I learned that from all the gases that the volcano itself creates so many healing remedies. To know such simple things that are needed, and the earth gives it back to us?  This is an interesting place to see for sure! You learn something new every day.
What is your philosophy of/in life?
I am a true believer in what ‘philosophy’ is, which is having the love of wisdom. The direction life may lead you is what it will be, you have the choice to use the knowledge that is given to you for betterment. By leading life with a positive mind set, life can be a very progressive and awakening journey. By enriching your life from the spoils of yesterday, you can create a nourished and supported growth of the new flowers of tomorrow; an adaption from a famous quote I adore.
Inner knowledge holds no bounds, the opposite which is the true meaning of ignorance. Ironically, if you don’t know you have it, how can you use it? Life can be beautiful if you make the choice to live it that way. ‘Ignorance is a state of being uninformed (lack of knowledge). The word “ignorant” is an adjective describing a person in the state of being unaware..’

Nairobi: March 10th, 2011: The iced tea brand under the Nestlé stable, NESTEA® has entered into a partnership with ASHLEYS, the franchise owners of Miss World Kenya chapter to sponsor the 2011 Miss World Kenya.
The pageant will be known as NESTEA® Miss World Kenya.
At the same time NESTEA® is giving opportunities to underprivileged girls from across the country to participate in the NESTEA® Miss World Kenya beauty pageant.
Starting March 12, with the crowning of NESTEA® Miss Kibera 2011, NESTEA® will launch a countrywide head hunt for four young underprivileged ladies who will get direct entry into the finals of NESTEA® Miss World Kenya 2011.
“NESTEA® aims to give young women from a less privileged background who meets the criteria of the pageant to

Natasha Metto, Miss World Kenya 2010 and Guenter Spiess, Business Executive Manager-Nestle
participate in the process.
This is a life changing opportunity for any one girl, regardless of her back ground or her socio-economic status” said Guenter Spiess, Business Executive Manager – Coffee & Beverages, Nestlé Equatorial Africa Region.
The recruitment for Miss NESTEA® will take place during the NESTEA® road shows to be held in Kibera, Kayole, Kwangware, Githurai, Thika, Machakos, Mombasa, Narok, Nakuru, Eldoret, Kisumu and Kisii as indicated in the route map below.

We Chat to Miss Universe Australia 2011 Scherri-Lee Biggs!

At an intimate Nude by Naturelaunch this afternoon we caught up with Miss Universe Australia 2011 Scherri-Lee Biggs — the mineral makeup brand is the key makeup partner of the awards — to talk taking out the crown, top tips she's picked up from the pros and how she feels about winning the prestigious title that has previously been held by Jennifer Hawkins, Rachael Finch and Jesinta Campbell. The communications student from Perth will head to Brazil to compete in the Miss Universe World contest in September and will celebrate her 21st birthday out there. Here's what Scherri-Lee had to say . . .
On her new role: "I always knew that I would never do something "normal" and have a 9-5 job. And this is certainly different!"
On her exercise routine: "I'm an early riser, even if I've had little sleep, I'm always up by 8am so I exercise in the morning as this is when I have the most energy. If I do exercise at night, I'll do something like Pilates or just go for a walk."
On her diet: I'm big on vitamins and have actually looked into changing courses and studying to become a Naturopath — though that's probably not possible at the moment! I really like The Healthy Skin Diet by Karen Fischer and get most of my information about vitamins and supplements from there. I drink lots of water and always try to include vegetables, especially raw vegetables, into my meals. My mum's a really good cook and I've grown up with a healthy diet — I definitely don't diet. I hate diets!
On makeup and skincare: I like natural products and I like to keep things simple. I like the natural, no-makeup look.
On expert advice she's picked up from the pros: Contouring! And with travelling and not always being able to take everything with me, I've learnt to use products for different things, like bronzer on my eyes, or mixed in with paw paw for my lips. Or I'll use an eyeliner for a smudged, smoky eye look.

From each of the thirteen locations, one girl will be crowned. Four out of the 13 Miss NESTEA® from the 13 locations will then be selected to attend a two day Nestea Workshop & Mentorship in Nairobi conducted by grooming, etiquette and public presentation experts.
These four will then join the NESTEA® Miss World Kenya 2011 finals in August and get a chance to be crowned Miss Kenya and later Miss World.
“We are not looking at how sophisticated the girls are and that is why we are conducting the head hunts from places like Kibera.  They just need to believe in themselves and meet the selection criteria such as the age limits and the minimum height requirement then they can show up at the events.
NESTEA® will show them how to wear makeup, do their hair, dress them up and give them a chance to be Miss World Kenya and change their world,” Mr. Spiess said.
The contestants will be required to be between 17 and 24 years of age, be of good height (at least 5’’7ft) and be of good dental health.  Weights will also be checked.
Alongside the head hunt for Miss NESTEA® , ASHLEYS will be conducting separate auditions in the 8 provinces to select three finalists from each province who will proceed to the next elimination stage where 20 contestants will be selected to join the Miss World Kenya boot camp.
